Ingredients
4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
400 g (about 1 lb) ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup cooking cream (or heavy cream)
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
2 tbsp tomato sauce (optional but tasty)
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
Salt and black pepper to taste
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp dried oregano (optional)
Fresh parsley for garnish
👨🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the potatoes
Peel and slice potatoes into medium slices.
Boil them in salted water for 5–7 minutes (not fully cooked).
Drain and set aside.
2️⃣ Cook the beef mixture
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and cook until soft.
Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Add ground beef and cook until browned.
Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano.
Add tomato sauce and cook 2 minutes.
3️⃣ Assemble the casserole
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Grease a baking dish.
Add one layer of potatoes.
Add beef mixture on top.
Pour cream evenly.
Sprinkle shredded cheese generously.
4️⃣ Bake
Bake for 25–30 minutes until cheese melts and turns golden.
Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
