  • 2 tablespoons water (if using cornstarch)

Step 1: Prepare the Beef

  1. Pat the beef cubes dry with paper towels.
  2. Season the beef with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

Step 2: Brown the Beef

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the beef cubes and sear them until browned on all sides.
  3. Remove the beef and set aside.

Step 3: Cook the Aromatics

  1. In the same pot, add chopped onion and cook for about 3 minutes until softened.
