๐Ÿฅ”๐Ÿง€ Creamy Sausage & Potato Bake

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 400 g sausages (beef or chicken), sliced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cooking cream (or heavy cream)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or mix)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp dried oregano or thyme
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan and lightly brown the sausage slices. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sautรฉ onion until soft, then add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. In a bowl, mix cream, milk, salt, pepper, paprika, and herbs.
  5. In a baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, then half of the sausages and some cheese.
  6. Repeat layers and pour the cream mixture over everything.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove foil, add remaining cheese on top, and bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Tips:

  • Add mushrooms or bell peppers for extra flavor ๐Ÿ„๐ŸŒถ️
  • For a crispy top, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end
