  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup milk

For Frying:

  • Vegetable oil (for deep frying)

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Batter

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.
  3. Gradually mix the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  4. Fold in the diced apples.

Step 2: Fry the Fritter Bites

  1. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, frying in small batches.
  3. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Step 3: Make the Glaze

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Dip or drizzle the fritter bites with the glaze while they’re still warm.

Serving Suggestions

  • Enjoy warm with coffee or tea.
  • Sprinkle with extra cinnamon sugar for a crunchier coating.
