๐Ÿ“ Ingredients

  • 500 g (1 lb) beef stew meat or sirloin, sliced
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 250 g (8 oz) egg noodles
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Gruyรจre cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

  1. Brown the beef
    Heat oil or butter in a large pan or pot. Add beef and cook until nicely browned.

  2. Build the flavor
    Sprinkle the French onion soup mix over the beef. Add beef broth and water. Stir well.

  3. Simmer
    Cover and let simmer on low heat for 25–30 minutes, until beef is tender.

  4. Cook the noodles
    Add egg noodles directly into the pot. Stir, cover, and cook for 8–10 minutes, until noodles are tender (add a little water if needed).

  5. Make it creamy
    Lower the heat and stir in sour cream and half of the cheese until creamy.

  6. Cheesy finish
    Sprinkle remaining cheese on top, cover for 2–3 minutes until melted.
