Cheesy Potato Patties Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 large potatoes (boiled & mashed, no lumps)
  • 1 cup mozzarella or cheddar cheese (cubed or shredded)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch or flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp milk or cream
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • Chopped parsley (optional)
  • Oil or butter for frying

Instructions

1. Prepare potato mixture

In a bowl, mix:

  • Mashed potatoes
  • Butter, milk
  • Egg
  • Salt, pepper, garlic powder
  • Cornstarch
    Mix until smooth but firm.

2. Shape & stuff

  • Take a scoop of potato mixture
  • Flatten in your palm
  • Place cheese in the center
  • Seal and shape into a thick round patty

3. Chill (important)

Refrigerate patties for 20–30 minutes so they hold shape.

4. Fry

  • Heat a pan with butter or oil over medium heat
  • Fry patties 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crispy
