๐Ÿฐ Cream Cheese Cake

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1½ cups (300 g) granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (120 ml) milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven

    • Set oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Grease and flour a 9-inch round or square cake pan (or line with parchment).
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients

    • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream Butter & Cream Cheese

    • In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
    • Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy (about 3–4 min).
  4. Add Eggs & Vanilla

    • Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
    • Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Combine Batter

    • Add dry ingredients in 2 additions, alternating with the milk.
    • Mix until just combined (don’t overmix).
  6. Bake

    • Pour batter into prepared pan.
    • Bake 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
    • Cool in the pan 10 min, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Optional Toppings

  • Dust with powdered sugar.
  • Spread cream cheese frosting on top.
  • Serve with fresh berries or a fruit compote.
